We’re still alive!

Wow, I apologize for doing an absolutely horrible job at keeping this site updated. Between all of the film projects and semester long odyssey of student teaching, I’ve really fallen behind on this.

The biggest news as of late is that, in addition to producing a new feature length film this summer entitled, appropriately enough, “The Last Summer” (with KeyLight Films, I have also taken over as operations manager and creative director of NumaNetwork.com, which is a dream come true. Be sure to check back on that site frequently for the latest comedy videos on the web from a variety of different production companies…

Also, be sure to follow our fan pages on facebook, both for “Philagape Productions” and “Numa Network”

Check back soon for more updates!

COMING SOON…still

The site isn’t finished yet! As you can see….we’re running behind schedule. But keep checking back. We ought to have something up by March 2009.

Wayne Powers

Portrayed by:
Will Ball

Appears in:
Christian (2004)
Killinger: The Life of an RA (2008)
Christian 2 (2011)

Wayne Powers was born at in Chester, Pennsylvania in 1986, and has lived in Aston, PA for nearly his entire life.

Wayne befriended his long time friend, Adam Hess, while he was in middle school. The two had Catholic backgrounds and both realized that they had strong faith in God, so they got involved with a Catholic Youth Group in a nearby church. By the time high school rolled around, Adam had given up his Catholic beliefs in favor of more protestant beliefs. Wayne held onto his Catholic beliefs until he graduated from Sun Valley High School, which Adam criticized and judged frequently, as seen in Christian.

In Christian, Wayne’s day opens with his parents fighting and eventually deciding to divorce. Afterwards, he goes to school with Adam. Despite being judged by him, Wayne served as a voice of reason and source of spiritual counsel for Adam Hess. Having just learned of Jess Peterson’s loss of innocence over the weekend, Wayne helped Adam through a very difficult time, and in the end, managed to knock some sense into him.

During the course of the day, it is alluded to that Wayne is somewhat friends with Mitch, Nate, and Mike Volpe, as he gives them advice during lunch time.

After high school, Wayne gave up his Catholic beliefs and adopted a more protestant, fundamental Christian belief system. He joined Adam’s church, and the two became youth leaders for young teenagers. They also went to the Philadelphia Biblical Institute for college, and in addition to their work as youth leaders, they became Christian motivational speakers that toured the country, making appearances at large Christian festivals such as Purple Door and Creation. Since high school, Adam and Wayne’s friendship has become stronger than ever.

Wayne makes a brief appearance in Killinger: The Life of an RA, when Mitch, Nate and Volpeman contact him to bail them out of trouble in New Jersey. It is at this point that the audience finds out that Wayne is actually engaged and getting ready to get married, a plot line that will be further explored in Christian 2.

Shane Daniels

Shane Daniels began working with Philagape Productions when he inquired about working on the crew for Opaque, back when it was still known as “Still Fighting It.” Shane showed up to the auditions not expecting to play a large role in the movie, but wound up impressing us so much that we gave him the lead role of Jay Benton for the film.

Shane is a 2005 graduate of West Chester University, majoring in Communications. He is currently the technician at the Digital Media Center at WCU.

Will Ball

Will Ball has been involved with Philagape Productions since its first production in 2004, Christian, in which he played Wayne Powers, Adam Hess’s best friend and “voice of reason.”

Right as Christian was wrapping in May/June 2004, Will starred in a music video produced by Philagape that featured Yellowcard’s song Ocean Avenue. He appeared alongside Liz Finnegan.

In 2006, Will starred as the title character in the short film Al’s World. Later that year, he made a brief cameo in Opaque as Officer Scott, a police officer in one of Jay Benton’s flashbacks.

Will Ball graduated from Sun Valley High School, the main setting of Christian, in 2005. He is currently studying film at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Name: Mike Volpe/Volpeman
Location: Aston, PA
Appearances:
Christian (2004)
Opaque (2006), Virginity Not Guaranteed (2008), Killinger: The Life of an RA (2008)

Created/Developed by: Mitch Donaberger, Brian Gorman, Jim Hoeffer, Chris Pierdomenico, Mike Volpe

Mike Volpe, otherwise known as Volpeman, is a character that has appeared in both feature-length movies that take place within the “Sun Valley Universe.” He first appeared in “Christian” as Mitch and Nate’s lovable loser lackey who followed them around the halls of Sun Valley High School. After an accident in the lunchroom and some time in the nurse’s office, Mike begins to discover that he has a special super power: the power to be instantly better than any person. Mitch and Nate begin to abuse this power, taking revenge on all those in the school that tortured them due to their nerd status. Later, Dash Lightning dupes Mitch and Nate into letting him use Volpeman’s powers for his own means.

After Christian, Volpeman disappeared for a while but made a quick cameo in Opaque, hanging out at Randy and Kiera’s house along with Mitch and Nate. By this time, he’s wearing a cape.

Volpeman’s only relationship has been an unseen girl named Staci, In both Christian and Opaque, Mitch and Nate ridicule Volpeman for his Internet girlfriend.

Volpeman will make another cameo appearance in the short film sequel to Christian, Virginity Not Guaranteed. He will be featured more prominently in the upcoming feature-length movie, Killinger: The Life of an RA. In this film, he has gone on to college with Mitch and Nate to live with them in the dorms. This film will also finally introduce his girlfriend, Staci.
