Wayne Powers

Portrayed by:
Will Ball

Appears in:
Christian (2004)
Killinger: The Life of an RA (2008)
Christian 2 (2011)

Wayne Powers was born at in Chester, Pennsylvania in 1986, and has lived in Aston, PA for nearly his entire life.

Wayne befriended his long time friend, Adam Hess, while he was in middle school. The two had Catholic backgrounds and both realized that they had strong faith in God, so they got involved with a Catholic Youth Group in a nearby church. By the time high school rolled around, Adam had given up his Catholic beliefs in favor of more protestant beliefs. Wayne held onto his Catholic beliefs until he graduated from Sun Valley High School, which Adam criticized and judged frequently, as seen in Christian.

In Christian, Wayne’s day opens with his parents fighting and eventually deciding to divorce. Afterwards, he goes to school with Adam. Despite being judged by him, Wayne served as a voice of reason and source of spiritual counsel for Adam Hess. Having just learned of Jess Peterson’s loss of innocence over the weekend, Wayne helped Adam through a very difficult time, and in the end, managed to knock some sense into him.

During the course of the day, it is alluded to that Wayne is somewhat friends with Mitch, Nate, and Mike Volpe, as he gives them advice during lunch time.

After high school, Wayne gave up his Catholic beliefs and adopted a more protestant, fundamental Christian belief system. He joined Adam’s church, and the two became youth leaders for young teenagers. They also went to the Philadelphia Biblical Institute for college, and in addition to their work as youth leaders, they became Christian motivational speakers that toured the country, making appearances at large Christian festivals such as Purple Door and Creation. Since high school, Adam and Wayne’s friendship has become stronger than ever.

Wayne makes a brief appearance in Killinger: The Life of an RA, when Mitch, Nate and Volpeman contact him to bail them out of trouble in New Jersey. It is at this point that the audience finds out that Wayne is actually engaged and getting ready to get married, a plot line that will be further explored in Christian 2.

Shane Daniels

Shane Daniels began working with Philagape Productions when he inquired about working on the crew for Opaque, back when it was still known as “Still Fighting It.” Shane showed up to the auditions not expecting to play a large role in the movie, but wound up impressing us so much that we gave him the lead role of Jay Benton for the film.

Shane is a 2005 graduate of West Chester University, majoring in Communications. He is currently the technician at the Digital Media Center at WCU.
